Porsche centre-lock wheels: an adapter developed by AN Riepu Centrs
AN Riepu Centrs has developed a dedicated adapter for Porsche centre-lock wheels. Geometry checks and straightening are now available in Riga.
AN Riepu Centrs has designed and manufactured a dedicated adapter for working on Porsche centre-lock wheels. It allows the wheel to be accurately centred and securely mounted on the machine for geometry checks and makes straightening work technically possible.
This solution is now available to Porsche owners and garages here in Latvia, at our workshop in Riga. Before any work begins, the wheel’s compatibility, damage and the manufacturer’s repair restrictions must be assessed.

What makes centre-lock wheels different?
A centre-lock system secures the wheel with a single central nut. It differs from the conventional arrangement of several wheel bolts and is used on certain Porsche sports cars.
This design also needs to be taken into account during servicing. Checking wheel geometry requires a mounting arrangement that fits the centre of the wheel and positions it correctly on the machine. Standard equipment alone is not always sufficient.
Our own design for accurate mounting
We developed our own adapter to work with these wheels. It centres the wheel and holds it securely on the machine.
Accurate mounting is essential when checking geometry. If the wheel is positioned incorrectly, this can affect both the measurements and the assessment of the damage.
The adapter was designed for Porsche centre-lock wheels. We assess its suitability for other manufacturers’ centre-lock wheels individually, checking compatibility with their design and dimensions.
When should wheel geometry be checked?
After hitting a pothole or kerb, a distorted wheel is not always immediately obvious. Possible signs include vibration while driving, a tyre losing pressure or difficulty balancing the wheel properly.
These symptoms can have other causes, so an inspection is needed first. A geometry check helps establish whether the wheel’s shape has changed and what action should follow.
This is a check of the wheel itself, rather than an adjustment of the vehicle’s wheel alignment.
Can every Porsche wheel be repaired?
The adapter makes it technically possible to mount a wheel and work on its geometry. However, this does not mean that every damaged wheel is suitable for repair or that the vehicle manufacturer approves such work.
Porsche states that genuine wheels with damage to the base material must be replaced. The manufacturer permits only the treatment of superficial paint damage. Straightening a distorted genuine Porsche wheel therefore does not comply with this manufacturer position.
For wheels made by other manufacturers, the requirements for the particular product must also be considered. The technical ability to correct a wheel’s shape does not, by itself, establish that the wheel is suitable for further use.
